    He does look good!! Hopefully we will all see him in the fall. The motto “jacked and tan” definitely gets comments. Ha.

    Outstanding. We had many combat-seasoned members or veterans of the armed forces competing in the Games this weekend. The Final individual event had a former Marine (Pat Burke), a former paratrooper (Dan Tyminski), and a former Special Forces operator (Nate Schrader). Josh Bridges (Active SEAL) was busy doing real world stuff or he would have been there for sure.

    Grant often warns me against doing something stupid in the gym with “You are not a professional CrossFitter. You don’t earn a living at this.” True. Men like these, however, CrossFit for a much higher purpose. Their fitness, their strength and work capacity is critical to their mission accomplishment and, to a degree, to their survival.

    We see men like these and think of them as super-human, “bulletproof”, as it were. And in so doing, we find it easier to forget about them in the day to day. Don’t. These men and women (those serving in combat, not CrossFitting) need your constant awareness and prayers. Just doing their routine jobs in peacetime is more dangerous than almost anything we do daily. Put them in a vast, hostile space with an implacable foe, and the dangers begin to stack up. The closer to the sharp end of the spear you get, the more dangerous everything becomes. They demand our thoughts, our awareness, our gratitude. Their loved ones left behind need your encouragement and appreciation. And their safe return deserves a great celebration.

    Thanks for all the love! We have a pretty basic gym set up here but it works. Here is the workout the team did the other day:
    100 Deep squats @ 135 followed by
    25, 20, 15, 10, 5 of:
    GHB to 135 bench to tire flips (250lbs) to burpees to 200m sandbag run.
    Best time was 25:30 something, I came in sucking at 31:45..
