10 one-armed KB swings (35/20lbs)

10 walking lunges

10 push ups

Jerk: 1RM

2K Row

-While the rest of the world is trying to think of their New Year’s resolutions for 2010, CrossFit Ktown is knocking out their goals for 2009 that were just set a couple of months ago! I watched 14 PR’s in 1RM Jerks go up today, and 2 specific year-end goals were met. Surekha and Erin both reached their goals in rowing, and did it with style might I add. Those of you who finished up those goals in the past few weeks, we still have a whole month of the year left, so let’s make it count. If you had a huge goal that you had to put a lot of time and effort into, make a smaller goal for the end of December. Max time L-Sit, 30 Double Unders in less than a minute, or even to foam roll and take your fish oil more often are all smaller goals that we can set for ourselves. Something I’ve been working on; I’m on day six of strict paleo and I’ve dropped 8 pounds, and I’ve PR’d my squat and press in the past two days.

Just call me Coach Neanderthal,

Coach CBo

    Hey Taylor:

What time you coming in on Friday? Grant says you been tearing it up on the wods, I want to go against you one time while I’ll be in town.

  2. crossfitktown December 2, 2009 at 5:59 pm

Coach Grok, you just can’t shorten it to G…

  3. Taylor December 2, 2009 at 6:20 pm

Brandon, I’m honestly not sure. I have my first law school final on Friday and a review for my final next Monday. I’m going to shoot for 3:30, but 4:30 if I’m running late.
On a separate note, I’d also like to post the video of a man that defines the term “intensity.”

  4. Taylor December 2, 2009 at 6:22 pm

If you don’t want to watch the whole thing, because it’s too weird, just skip to minute 2:23 of the video and watch for about 10 seconds.

  5. Brandon December 2, 2009 at 6:23 pm

Taylor, good luck with your law school stuff.

I will more than likely be there at 4:30, so plan for that if you’re up for the challenge … ;)

  6. Taylor December 2, 2009 at 6:27 pm

    I’ll see what I can do…

  7. Erin December 2, 2009 at 6:51 pm

Few things to say tonight before I go rest my tired back…
    a) Geri’s pretty
    b) Geri’s awesome
    c) Geri rocks my socks off, even the thick hiking ones
oh, and d) Larry, ahem, Dad, you’re one lucky dude
oh, and e) Geri, you’re one lucky lady
    f) I love you two!

Do I sense a rivalry here? Coach Grok, I love the full name better than the shortened version! I also love the fact that there are over 8 comments an hour after I posted this!!! That’s dedication….

    What’s goin on Caleb!

I’m gonna try a 5RM DL at 405 on saturday and then gonna try to pull 445 next saturday I believe.

Also, watching Man Vs. Food – awesome. Since all you fools are forgoing metcons to be fatties, we should have some sort of eating challenge. I suggest an AMRAP Taco Bell Soft Shell Tacos in 10 minutes.

  10. Doug December 2, 2009 at 7:46 pm

I’m not trying to be 70s big like G, Brandon. However, he and I will be having a pizza buffet contest around Christmas.

  11. Brandon December 2, 2009 at 7:49 pm

I wish to join you fellas in your contest!

  12. James December 3, 2009 at 6:17 am

Taylor, that video was AWESOME! Vintage Ultimate Warrior with his lovely feathered mullet…Great job yesterday Erin and Surekha on hitting your goals for 09 and for everyone that PR’d. Like the Nature Boy Rick Flare says WOOOO!

    And another birthday wish, James.

  16. crossfitktown December 3, 2009 at 9:02 am

And Brandon, I think you’ll like this since he’s working at the railroad. Maybe one day you can grow up to adult male and be like Doug Young: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4n0QfcVXLug

  17. Taylor December 3, 2009 at 11:05 am

I don’t know what was more epic about that video: doug young’s chest hair or the completely unnecessary 1000 lb. tandem deadlift

  18. James December 3, 2009 at 2:57 pm

Thanks everyone for the b-day wishes. I’ve had a fantastic day. =o)

  19. crossfitktown December 3, 2009 at 5:08 pm

Who wins in a fight, Doug Young or Paul Bunyan?

  20. Coach CBo December 3, 2009 at 6:48 pm

trick question, Doug Young IS Paul Bunyan!
