I hope you all understand that Ktown would never eat its children. But we may devour whoever it is marking our business as closed on Google Maps. You've been warned.

Warm-up: Joint Mobility

5 Rounds:
A1) Hang Power Clean x1, Hang Squat Clean x1, rest 60 seconds
A2) Power Jerk x1, Split Jerk x1, rest 60 seconds

MetCon – For effort:
2-3 Rounds of
5 Burpees
10 Double Unders
5 Burpees
10 Double Unders
5 Burpees
10 Double Unders

And so tomorrow begins the Open.  It looks like we will have 50+ competing in this year’s CrossFit Open!  We are very excited for all of you.  I know you just can’t wait to see what the workout will be when it is released tomorrow evening.

Here is how most of our weeks will pan out during the Open:

Monday – Strength and MetCon
Tuesday – Skill and MetCon
Wednesday – Percentage-based Strength and MetCon (workout releases late Wednesday night)
Thursday – Movement prep for Open workout
Friday – OFF (mobility never takes a day off)
Saturday – Open workout with optional strength work following
Sunday – OFF (do I even have to say it?)

Now, several of you just shifted uneasily in your seat.  Part of you are wondering what this Open thing is that I speak of, and to that part I will say nothing except I am mad at you.  To the part of you squirming because you do not want to/cannot make a Saturday Open workout, just hold on a second.  The gym workout every Friday will be the Open workout for that week.  So do not fear if you have plans for that Saturday and cannot make the big throw down at the gym.

I also know that life happens and some of you may be travelling or doing something really cool that prohibits you from working out Friday and Saturday.  That is fine as well.  Get with me and we can schedule a time for you to do the workout Thursday.

Saturday’s Open workouts will take place from 8:30AM-10AM and 11AM-Noon.  We can probably count on a longer workout in the range of 20 minutes at some point, and when we see that we may have to stretch the Saturday workout windows a bit.  We will open those French doors when we get to them.

So to recap!  Our unlimited athletes should consider sticking with the schedule I laid out previously.  Our 3x/week athletes should try to attend at least the Monday and Thursday sessions with your choice of whatever other day.  If you are a 3x/week person and plan on doing the workout on Friday, talk with a coach about how best to skin that situation.  The Thursday movement preparation sessions will be important for those of you wanting to try and qualify for Regionals, but they are not paramount for everyone.

Did I miss anything?  Does anyone have any questions or concerns relating to the Open or life in general?  Would anyone be interested in grabbing coffee tomorrow just to chat?

    I shifted uneasy in my seat. I have not been to our precious ktown for almost 3 weeks. Is the open going to kill me?
