Ktown had three athletes competing at this past weekend’s Faction Games in Memphis, TN.  We also had a bunch of people who made the trip over to support them.  It was a fun-filled weekend with some amazing performances.  Everyone had a blast, except Domino.  I will tell the weekend’s story via pictures with captions:

Adam decided it would be to his advantage to look like white trash at the event.

And Kirsten thought it would be a good idea to just look HAWT!

Josh, whom we just met Saturday and is from CrossFit Cookeville, and Ethan chillax before their names are called for the snatch WOD.

TOIGHT!

Freshly engaged couple. Not bad looking, either.

Adam ended up setting a new personal record with his 195lb snatch. He went on to attempt 205 and 215lbs. He dropped under both very quickly, but couldn't catch them. We will chalk it up to the angled parking lot. Adam finishes 7th overall in the snatch ladder.

Ethan's overhead squats were golden.

Rachel Henry and her beau showed up for Saturday!

Kirsten begins her KB AMRAP WOD. It was hotter than Dante's Peak with Pierce Brosnan out there.

Ask Kirsten how awesome the KB/burpee was!!! She ended up finishing this WOD in 7th place! Amazing job with a hurt shoulder.

And this is where she yelled, "FREEDOM!"

Domino's pool for the weekend.

Teach me how to Dougie; t-teach me how to Dougie!

And so events 1 ended for everyone.  There will be many more pictures, comments, and even some video tomorrow.

Congratulate the competitors when you see them,
Coach G

    1. Congrats to all of the competitors! You guys rocked it… and looked good doing it.
    2. Kirsten, those shorts are ssss-ick. So proud of your performance!
    3. Adam, you disgust me with your trashiness. And your new PR.
    4. Ethan, did you get your hat from the late crocodile hunter? Love it.

I just wanted to say how proud G, CBo, and myself were of all the competitors! We couldn’t have asked for better representation. I am also so excited that we have so many members who love CrossFit and love each other enough to drive 6 hours away on a weekend and sit in the blazing sun to cheer on their friends. (Dani, Doug, Brandon, Josh, Rachel, Surekha.) That’s what I’m talking about!

Just wanted to offer my thanks to CrossFit Ktown for all their support this weekend. To stand in the hot sun and cheer on some dude they just met that weekend meant a lot to me. Even though I didn’t do as well as I hoped, just hanging out and meeting everyone made it so worth it. From the pure hotness that is Kirsten (those shorts, sheww) to the beastmen, Adam and Big E, maybe some of it rubbed off. I’ll be up there this fall to workout with you guys, Paul I’m coming for ya.
    Thanks again.

I can’t begin to thank everyone enough for the good luck wishes! To the coaches and my fellow k-towners who were awesome enough spends 12 hrs in a car not to mention risking heat stroke to take pictures and cheer me and “Paul the Phoenix” on, you guys are the best! Can’t wait to do it all again, hopefully in sub-triple digit temperatures.
