Get some proper shoes already!

Warm-up:  2 Rounds – 10 Mobility Lunges, 10 Serratus Push-ups, 10 V-ups, Hip Opener, and Samson Stretch

Front Squat: 1RM

O-lifting shoes should come before the Inov-8s.  Do you want to improve your weightlifting?  You need a great bottom position.  Mobility is a much needed and often neglected part of that bottom position, but so are the correct shoes.

A firm sole and elevated heel goes a long way in keeping your torso more upright in your squats.  We front squatted today trying to find a new 1RM.  Several of us failed because we could not keep our chest up in the bottom and coming out of the bottom of the squat.  Proper shoes will not only help your bottom position in squats, but they will give you confidence dropping quickly in to the hole.

A strong clean and snatch require bags of confidence in the hole with weight supported on the shoulders and overhead, respectively.  Give yourself a boost of that confidence with proper footwear.  There are many people at the gym with different brands and sizes of O-lifting shoes.  Ask them their opinions, and they might even let you try them on.

    I got my pair of Rogue Do-Wins a couple of years ago and they made all the difference in the world. O shoes are worth the investment if you are/want to be serious about lifting. period.     Also, my size 7’s are at the gym if any of the ladies want to try them out one day. They fit my size 9 foot nicely.

    Best.Purchase.Ever….(well except for that engagement ring). I was fortunate enough to get a pair right before a CF Total and each of my scores jumped 20lbs. Stronger, yes, but not that much stronger. Plus I became way more confident in my cleans and snatches from that point on.

    Also, witnessing Coach G throw up 290 on the front squat yesterday was inspiring.

    I love my Reebok Oly shoes, especially since the toe box is a little more versatile making them easier to use during metcons as well as just lifting. Definitely a confidence builder having a stable platform to land on.
