Warm-up: CFWU x2, Hip Mobility

MetCon – Sort of 2 Minute Defense:
10 Rounds for Time (135/95lb)
1 Power Clean
2 Hang Cleans
3 Jerks
100ft Run
(Rest 2 minutes after the 5th run but let the clock run)

Due to the time factor, I will make a very long winded Garage Games post tomorrow full of updates, pictures, videos and what not. Tonight you will have to remain in suspense if you still don’t know what happened. Surprisingly, Taylor still came in to work out today. Crazy…yes. Dumb…maybe. Just kidding Taylor, we are just jealous. Congratulations to all the competitors! You all kicked butt and made Ktown proud. And even more, thanks to all the Ktown supporters that went out to stand in the cold and cheer on our athletes. It makes a huge difference when your friends are yelling and cheering for you, and it definitely doesn’t go unnoticed.  There were people who came up and asked about our gym just because of our screaming fans. We also want to send a huge thank you, to CrossFit Memphis who let us take-over and chill in their cabin all weekend. We heart you! Lastly, a big congrats goes out to our fellow affiliate, CrossFit Knoxville, who sent one of their athletes, Derek Robinson, there to compete. Derek killed the sandbag deadlift workout and definitely represented Knoxville CrossFits well. Great job everybody!

    Jessie isn’t kidding about the people coming up to us because of the fans.

    I had a complete stranger come up to me after the very last WOD and say “Your gym must have a great atmosphere … you have so many friends here …”

    But seriously, thanks so much to Grant, Caleb, Dani, Jessie, Megan, Josh, Bobby, and Kirsten for braving the cold/wet/miserable conditions to watch us torture ourselves. I’m sure I can speak for Taylor, Cesar and Doug also when I say we really appreciate it.

    Also, Taylor: You’re a better man than I am for going to work out today. I feel mostly OK, but my lower back can barely handle standing up, let alone any sort of exercise.

    I just wanted to say thanks to everybody for going down and cheering us all on. I know it wasn’t easy to stand outside in that weather and cheer us all on, so I just wanted to tell Jessie, Grant, Caleb, Kirsten, Taylor, Brandon, Doug, Bobby, The Memphis Guys, and Everybody else who went that I really appreciated all the support because you guys really did make the difference in those workouts. I definitely wanted to drop that weight in the deadlifts but you guys made me do it unbroken and Thanks Brandon for the ride and letting me stay with you and Kirsten. I owe you big time.

    And thanks Caleb, Jessie and Grant for helping me get ready for the Games, theres no way i could have finished those WODs without you guys. Thanks Grant for taping me up before the last event, I <3 you. I’m proud of all the guys that competed, sorry Jessie I couldn’t get first in the race, i couldn’t catch that damn rabbit kid who won, he was way to fast! I know Ive only been at Crossfit for a month, but i love all you guys and hope to compete again next year, hopefully in the advanced division by then!

    well that sucks…cant even claim to have done 2 minute defense. makes me hate that nine and a half minutes even more. congrats to all the gg guys…hope you enjoyed it

    Well crap, so we did a harder version of 2 Minute Defense…I would have much rather had another hang clean as the jerks were my rate limiter. Actually, just being weak is my rate limiter.

    Thanks again to everyone who came out to the Garage Games and everybody at KTown. This weekend was a blast, and like Grant said, I think people definitely noticed there’s soething in the water up here. haha

    Thanks to Megan, Grant, Jessie, Caleb, Josh, Kirsten, and Bobby for braving the most miserable weather ever at a Crossfit competition just to cheer us 4 galoots on. You braved wind, sleet, snow, rain, mud, my whining, Removem, skeeting, 3 shrimp scampis, a dog fight, 2 wrecks on 75 South, and Grant’s gas for us. We love you. 51 out of 57 4 LYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYFE!

    If you asked me on Saturday what would be the worst possible combination of movements for that final chipper to be, what came out was pretty damn close. At least in the top 5, right Taylor? ;)

    Dude, I just watched the video on the CF Knoxville site of you in the sandbag event. I wish I had the kind of strength to just toss that bag up onto my back in one motion…
