(You have 3 attempts at each lift. Once the weight on the bar goes up, it can’t come down).
Sometimes life is hard. Sometimes things we do in life are hard, like trying to reach goals. If it’s truly a goal, shouldn’t it be hard? Do you think Ryan Lochte just woke up one morning and became an Olympic swimming sensation? No, he put hours into the pool and hours into his gym training for years on end. Do you think Benjamin Franklin just became a master inventor, musician, politician, mathematician, etc. without serious determination and diligent work? Nope. What about Luke Skywalker? It took him 3 movies to get a grip on the “the force.” I think you all know what I’m getting at. Achieving your goals can be rough, but ask Lochte if crushing his competition (including Phelps) and hearing the National Anthem with a gold medal around his neck didn’t make it all worthwhile.
Today started the beginning of food restrictions for the CrossFit Skinny program, and tomorrow begins the first class. I think everyone who signed up for the program realizes they aren’t going to like me much during the next 12 weeks because I’m going to make their lives HARD! Hopefully when they finish, it will all be worth it (even without a gold medal).
One thing I asked “skinniers” to do and am now asking you to do, is to come up with 5 goals you would like to achieve, or come closer to achieving, within the next 3 months. Write them down, put them up on the bathroom mirror, fridge, closet, or wherever and evaluate them on a weekly basis. They can be workout oriented or life oriented. Whatever you want to achieve, let’s start getting on it!
Goal setting… do more of it,

P.S. Ashley, that’s how you start to reach your goals!
