I forgot deodorant today and hope you noticed…

Warm-up

Work pacing and efficiency strategies for Open workout 12.1

Power Clean: BW or 75% of 1RM, whichever is lighter, 1 every 30s for 20 reps

Eat and sleep well tonight, Ktowners.  For those of you going tomorrow, good luck!  Give your all for Ktown, but more importantly work hard and to a level worthy of yourself.  Do not finish the 7 minutes of burpees thinking, “Man, I could have done a few more.”  It will be a fun atmosphere with a lot of people standing around you cheering and motivating you.  Embrace and use it to do your best all while having a great time.

I look forward to seeing the scores trickle in all day tomorrow and Saturday.  Remember to get online and submit your score for me to validate after you complete the workout.  Scores must be turned in by each Sunday following the workout.

    Good Luck to everyone in the first WOD! Is it weird to just come spectate and cheer people on when you are not there to work out…

    Yes, Jenn. All is normal. Show up and sweat.

    Samantha, spectators have been in and out all morning watching. R Kelly put up the top score so far at 99. Debra put in a master’s score that place her in te top 40 in the world, currently.

    Sam, I have been a big fan of just showing up to spectate. I might do it today during the nooner.

    Sam, dropping by to just cheer people on on “Tough WOD Days” is a joy and privelege. Encouragement always helps me, so I assume it helps others.

    I told Grant today that is is a LOT of fun with so many people from the gym “competing in the Open”. There is tangible excitement, huge spirit and teamwork, shared suffering, and surprising achievements…people finding something they didn’t know they had.

    Per Sam’s comment above and my reply, if you have an opportunity to go by during an Open WOD scoring window, whether you are doing the Open or not, and can be there to cheer on, or even count for, you fellow CF-ers, you will really enjoy it.

    For everyone who was yelling for me today, Paul, L-Shiz, Nasty, Sam, Cope…thanks.
