Warm-up: 500m Row, 3×10 GHD Sit-ups, 3×10 GHD Reverse Hypers, 30 Dislocates

Front squat: 5RM

MetCon – For Time:
100 Double-unders – rest 1 minute
(Repeat with 75, 50, and 25 reps)
Don’t stop the time during rest period

Finisher: 3 max sets of parallette push-ups (rest 2 minutes between sets)

Did today’s MetCon bring back memories of jump roping as a child? Maybe it only did for me, who got to watch you guys crank out 250 double-unders. Very impressive. The only thing missing was some form of a jump rope song. Although, I don’t think anyone had the energy to chant during the workout given the pools of sweat on the floor afterward. That is something to look forward too though: a double-under MetCon while chanting a jump rope rhyme. So here it is… same MetCon but be prepared to sing one of these options, “Engine Engine Number 9,” “Down in the Valley Where the Green Grass Grows,” or “Miss Mary Mack.”

Supplying the childhood flashbacks regularly,

Rofl, Buddy Lee…at least he references “Coach G” in there.

Sorry I missed it Jess. Let’s go with “Cinderella dressed in yellow”

I knew you’d love the Coach G reference.

Yesterday was a huge challenge but I feel like I improved a lot during the course of the workout… that is until I tried to do 50 DU’s this morning as the last event of the Filthy Fifty. I managed to stripe my left arm up pretty good because of those tired arms and legs.

Good luck today Ktowners, don’t let the suck get to you like I did.

    I am not sad I missed this….

Hahaha, I was so afraid you’d come in, Megan. I didn’t want to be there when you did it. I was scared of the obscenities you’d scream and the beating I would take trying to coach you through it.

HAHAHA Megatron, I said to Grant last night, “Good thing Megan didn’t come in today.”

Jonathan, you aren’t supposed to ruin the surprise!

  9. Erin October 16, 2009 at 8:17 am

    I can’t feel my calves.

A little birdie had already told me that today’s WOD would be filthy. I’m pumped, it was one of my first WOD’s at Ktown so I hope to kill my previous time.

I think most heard from the birdie that James mentioned. Plus, I think the masses are MORE enticed to come in knowing they’ll be challenged. That’s the type of motivated individuals that frequent CFKT. I like the working out in the morning thing… I’ve felt great so far today!

I can’t believe how many people were actually doing the Double Unders!!! It’s not an easily acquired skill…not to even mention how many we did in the WOD! Stay psyched!!!
