MetCon – For Time:
2k Row

Remember, there will be no evening classes Friday.  Instead, there is the 6PM Halloween workout and party.  Come at us!

Everyone has been wondering the answer to our last “How well do you know your coaches?” post, and I am here to give you the answer.  The coach that never uses chalk is Coach T-Pain aka Taylor Layman.  His sweat has calcium carbonate properties that scientists have been trying to replicate for the past 26 years rendering an extra application of chalk superfluous.

With that said, great job today on the 2k row, Ktowners.  We had a lot of personal records set, all while Sipi held on to his top spot on the board.  We also had some people not set a new PR thanks to our 2k row cycle we did not too long ago.  Who knew that somewhat training for a 2k row over the course of 12 weeks would artificially decrease your time to the point you cannot sustain while doing more typical CrossFit training?  Well, we actually did.

Anyways, I’m off to play with my brand new Dyson DC28 Animal,
Coach G

Chalk is what eventually forced the vikings to stop pillaging. And I support vikings. And pillaging. It’s historical.

Caveat: I have a distaste for the Minnesota Vikings. Nor have they ever pillaged anything except the loss column.

Is ther an authoritative reference you can cite RE vikings and chalk. Being of Norwegian descent, I am curious how this little factoid was not passed down to us.

BTW, I usually say “Fran Lung” to describe the burning, bloody-taste-in-in-your-mouth, hacking throat thing I experience occasionally in the gym. I will now no longer call it that. It is now “2K Row Lung”. Holy crap.

Can I say “Thanks” to the people who were behind me yelling for me down the last 500M? I know Taylor was telling me to pick up my rate, but one has to have something left in the tank in order to pick anything up and I was about out. I did find something at 200M, but since I couldn’t clearly see the readout, I wouldn’t have known when that was without the cheering section.

Seriously, thanks. It meant a lot to have y’all behind me.

Every time I think Grant is cool again, he posts something like this.

I second that thank you! It wouldn’t have been a lot harder to finish if I didn’t have that cheering squad reminding me I could finish!
