After CrossFitting for less than 3 months, Jordan competed in the Oktoberfest Games this past weekend. He placed 14th after Friday’s barbell AMRAP. Then there was the run and swing workout which he knew he would have a harder time at. He fought through to the end though. Next was the chipper. He battled it out and finished mid-pack. Sadly, the chipper was to end his day. Jordan suffered a lower back injury that is going to keep him out of the gym for a few weeks. Let’s all let him know he will be missed, and that we want to see him back in here ASAP.
Speaking of absences, Big Paul has been playing hooky for far too long now. If you haven’t already, give him a call and check in on the big guy. The gym just isn’t the same without him. Matt Hinton’s hard work ethic is another notable dearth in our numbers. I’m not too worried about Glenn, but I haven’t seen his name on the board yet this week which is an oddity for him. After a notable absence yesterday, Travis showed up this afternoon and worked hard or at least put on the façade of hard work. Lorena, we hope to see you later this week. And to anyone else thinking about skipping out on a workout, just know there are repercussions.
Remember, we are a family so support each other. If someone hits a PR or is working out of their mind hard, let them know you notice and approve. When someone fails to show up for a class or two, get on them. We all need little reminders here and there that we are doing a good job, or (gasp) not doing what is expected of us. Keep each other accountable.
